TRAINEE TRAIN DRIVER TRAINING
Basic trainee train driver training normally lasts for approximately one year comprising theory and practical sessions.
Theory
session takes place in a classroom environment where you will be taught
train driver rules and regulations as well as traction.
Practical
session involves a “hands on” experience driving trains under
supervision for a couple of months. During your practical handling, you
will learn all the necessary signalling and routes you will be
operating.
At pre-determined intervals during your training you
will undergo assessment to check how well you are progressing with the
training.
Progression to the next level of training depends on satisfactory outcome of these assessments.
